1. Identify Data Sources

Our engineers and attorneys work with trial counsel to identify the universe of potentially responsive electronic docu-
ments. We can assist in mapping net-
works and data movement paths, with drafting discovery requests, and with preparing for and conducting 30(b)(6) depositions. Proper identification of data sources avoids the espense of overinc-
lusive data gathering and the failure of underinclusive source identification.

  2. Secure Data Sources

We image hard disk drives and other storage media so that company business can continue without fear of spoliation. We assist with Evidence Preservation Orders and law-enforcement-supported adversarial imaging actions. We identify backup media as appropriate and prevent recycling.

  3. Access Data

We restore backup tapes and other media to system-readable format. We recapture “deleted” and fragmentary files as appro-
priate to the case. We crack encrypted files, quarantine viruses, and rebuild websites from original data. Our forensic machines index all this data, and original metadata, into a single-window-access application for ease of processing and review.

  4. Filter Data

We remove files clearly not relevant to the case―usually duplicates and system files. Using proprietary Offline Filter tech-
nology, we remove spam from email while preserving the original send and receive data, including timestamps.

  5. Search Data

In preparation for trial attorney review, we “Macrosearch” large volumes of data to isolate relevant or privileged terms as appropriate to the case. In this manner, millions of documents―or more―are reduced to a number that is appropriate for meaningful searching and attorney review. Any documents not identified are archived for possible future use.

  6. Review Data

Without the expense of further process-
ing, we make electronic documents available for trial attorney review on our forensic machines. All documents and images are searchable in a single, user-friendly proprietary format, on machines located either at our offices or, with full technical support, at a site within the United States designated by our client. In large cases, trial attorneys take advant-
age of this step to further cull data to a reasonable and cost-effective volume for further production and use.

  7. Produce Data

We support production of flagged or otherwise identified documents. Depen-
ding on the case, trial attorneys may direct us to produce directly from our forensics machines as raw native-format files. We also produce in multi- and single-page .TIFF format with associated original metadata (or a range of other formats), withelectronic Bates stamps as requested. To support clients with in-house document management soft-ware, we also produce data files and complete evidence packages suitable for uploading into popular software applications, including Concordance and Summation.

  8. Support Data

We offer online hosting over secure high-speed servers via iCONECT, voted best Online Document Management Solution year after year. We support and defend every step of our funnel process to assure acceptability and admissibility.
